We have made no secret of our continued growth ambitions at Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP – and the major milestones we have marked over the last two years in particular are testament to that.

Since combining with Irwin Mitchell in 2023, we have gone from strength to strength, maximising opportunities and enhancing our offering through cross-border collaboration.

This was closely followed by our acquisition of McAndrew & Jenkins in Inverness, an area which has gained particular strategic importance for businesses with the designation of the Inverness and Cromarty Firth Green Freeport (ICFGF).

Earlier this year, our growth trajectory continued as we joined forces with commercial law firm Davidson Chalmers Stewart, bringing us together as a 200-strong team with 46 partners working across Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Dunblane and Galashiels, supported by our Irwin Mitchell colleagues.

Culturally our firms are a great fit and we have significantly strengthened our corporate, real estate, commercial dispute resolution and renewables offering by bringing together experts with unparalleled expertise.

We have also continued to invest in talent, recruiting a highly experienced Partner to head up Family Law, taking on five newly-qualified solicitors and welcoming our largest ever cohort of trainees across our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices.

Looking ahead, we aim to be market leaders in our expert areas, and in the very near future we and our colleagues across Irwin Mitchell and Davidson Chalmers Stewart want to operate under one single brand.

Together we have a real national strength.

Very soon our industry will need to navigate post-Budget economic changes, legal-industry regulatory changes, and ever-evolving changes to our ways of working as AI transforms the profession.

The key to sustainable success is ensuring we have an agile leadership team that is ready to be flexible and challenge the way things have traditionally been done.
