Gilson Gray shows legal prowess with record UK growth 

Gilson Gray, headquartered in Edinburgh’s Rutland Square, is the fastest-growing law firm in the UK, according to the UK Fast Growth Index.

The full-service firm ranked as the 15th fastest-growing professional services business overall, securing the highest position of any legal sector organisation. Gilson Gray reported revenues of more than £32m for its 2023-2024 financial year. This listed the firm in 9^th place of Scotland’s head office firms in The Business Top 20 firms.

However, between 2024 and 2025, the firm has delivered £40m of turnover (a 25 per cent year on year increase), and based on the first half of the 2025-26 financial year, expectation is to break £50m barrier in revenue (a further 20 per cent growth year on year), consolidating the law firm’s position as a leading light in UK legal sector growth. This would place the firm in Scotland top five home-based firms.

The momentum is fuelled by a series of strategic senior appointments across its London and Lincoln offices. Recent hires include Jeremy Davy, who joined as partner and head of residential conveyancing for England and Wales, and Steven Eckett, who becomes head of employment for England.
