Ana founded her digital consultancy business after graduation and grew it into a leading global innovator of consumer engagement software.  As CEO, she led the AIM listing of the company on the London Stock Exchange and was voted Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year by the Entrepreneurial Exchange. She then sold the company in a US trade sale.

Ana is a sought-after speaker and influencer. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Currently, she is a partner with Eos Advisory, based in St Andrews in Fife.

The Business Editor Kenny Kemp said: “We’re delighted to have Ana as one of our panellists in Glasgow on September. She will be joining Calum Paterson, Jim McColl and Will Whitehorn, in what will be an amazing session.”

Ms Stewart co-authored the landmark Pathways report on supporting women in entrepreneurship in 2023.

She takes up her role in July 2026.

The Chief Entrepreneur’s remit includes acting as the chief adviser to the Scottish Government on growing the start-up and scale-up economy.

This includes key priorities such as implementing the Pathways report, optimising existing programmes and initiatives, growing Scotland’s risk capital market and working with universities to increase the number of spinout companies who reach scale.

The work will involve engaging with investors and entrepreneurs, ensuring that Scottish Government policy and delivery is shaped by business.

Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes describes Ana Stewart as an exceptional talent with deep experience of starting, scaling and investing in some of Scotland’s best companies.

The business breakfast, on Thursday 25th September, will be an opportunity to hear Ana on the dealmaker’s panel which includes Calum Paterson, of Scottish Equity Partners, Will Whitehorn, who has recently been made OBE for services to the Aerospace and Space Industries, and Jim McColl, founder of Clyde Blowers Capital, who will be talking about his journey to create the Alba Bank for Scottish SMEs.

Ana Stewart said: “Leveraging my own lived experience as an entrepreneur and investor, I am looking forward to contributing to the development and optimisation of the Scottish Government’s entrepreneurship strategy.

“Entrepreneurship is the engine room for economic growth and it’s essential that we provide more pathways, increased access and accelerated funding to current and future founders, whilst ensuring private and public sector are aligned in making that happen.”
