Luxury jeweller Laings is opening a showroom in the company’s former Argyll Arcade store in Glasgow. The arcade remains one of Scotland’s best known and most popular places for jewellery and watches.
Laings are introducing a range of additional services alongside its bespoke jewellery and watch servicing offerings. The opening marks Laings’ fifth jewellery showroom in the UK, including Edinburgh, Southampton, and Cardiff, with exclusive collections and experiences created specifically for the location.
The showroom will welcome clients with an immersive shopping environment. Expanding upon their current jewellery selection, Laings will release four new collections, exclusively available in the Argyll Arcade showroom.
“Laings has called Glasgow its home since our beginnings. With the return to such an iconic location as the Argyll Arcade, it was important for the new collections to have a fingerprint of our story, design expertise and craftsmanship,” say Serena Gough, the firm’s services director.
The collections will be crafted using single mine origin (SMO) gold, a considered choice that reflects the integrity and authenticity behind each piece. Fully traceable from mine to finished creation, SMO gold offers complete transparency over its journey and provenance.
It is sourced exclusively from responsibly operated mines that meet the highest environmental and social standards, with every stage independently audited and carefully managed. This commitment further underscores Laings’ dedication to exceptional quality and responsible craftsmanship.
A team of craftspeople will be at home in a workshop within the showroom, creating bespoke jewellery for clients whilst also offering service options with expedited turnaround.
Clients will be able to see goldsmiths and craftspeople at work through a glass wall, giving exclusive insight into the world of jewellery.
A new curated bridal collection is being launched, allowing clients to customise their engagement and wedding band journey from beginning to end.
Along with a team of five goldsmiths, three additional sales members will be recruited. The team will be led by Devlin McKeowan who has been promoted to showroom manager, after two years at Laings Rowan House showroom.
“It is a great joy to see this project coming to life. The experiences we will be offering invite clients to explore and open themselves up to the world of jewellery. The pieces are emblems of our story and the new showroom will further allow us to mark milestones and celebrate with clients.”
