Angela Hepworth has been appointed chief executive officer of Scottish Renewables, taking over from Claire Mack, who is moving to SSEN Transmission. Hepworth will step into the role next week bringing more than two decades of experience in civil service and industry roles, with a track record of shaping the future of UK energy policy.
She joins Scottish Renewables from Drax, where she has been corporate affairs director and commercial director, leading work on low-carbon projects. Previously, Hepworth served as policy & regulation director at EDF UK, leading development work of Sizewell C.
She began her career at the Department for Trade & Industry, where she worked on security of energy supply and the development of electricity markets.

Hepworth will lead Scottish Renewables’ efforts to champion the sector, working with government, industry and stakeholders to support investment and accelerate progress towards Scotland’s renewable energy goals.

Angela starts on July 20 assuming the role of chief executive officer on July 31, when Claire Mack steps down.
