DEALMAKING OPPORTUNITIES

DEALMAKING OPPORTUNITIES
IN GLASGOW

How Sustainable Investment and Finance Will Deliver a Legacy for Scotland.

DATE: THURSDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER 2025

VENUE: THE MERCHANTS HOUSE IN GEORGE SQUARE, GLASGOW

TIMINGS: 08:15 – 11.30

Clyde Metro is a ‘once in a 100-year’ project. Several workstreams are being developed and approved to demonstrate the need and value of delivering a project of this scale.

The SPT is the lead partner for developing the Case for Investment, but how will Scotland’s business become involved in such a transformational event?

The CFI sets out the Programme Level Business Case and arranges for the initial delivery phases. It will also incorporate assessments of improving sustainable transport access to Glasgow Airport and other key transport hubs.

Glasgow City Council, acting as a representative for the Glasgow City Region, supports SPT in delivering the CFI and focuses on the wider transformational programme opportunities. Transport Scotland is acting in a project assurance role.

The conference will feature insights and expertise on this game-changing project for Scotland’s most significant metropolis. But how can Scotland business become part of this transformational project?

The objective of the conference will be to:

  • Set out the primary challenges in building the Clyde Metro.
  • Examine the deal-making opportunities open to the public and private sectors, which will help unlock skills development and jobs in Greater Glasgow.
  • Discuss how the UK and Scottish Governments and private sector funders can ensure precise delivery and audit transparency for public and private monies.
  • Reflect on how technology and modelling can be improved and enhanced to deliver fairer outcomes.
  • Look positively at the future, the possibilities and the legacy of the Clyde Metro.
