KPMG Corporate Finance is delighted to have acted as lead adviser to DC2 Top Co Limited on the sale of The Independent Family Funeral Directors Limited t/a Fosters Funeral Directors (‘Fosters’) to the Scottish Midland Co-Operative Society Limited (‘Scotmid’). Fosters is one of Scotland’s leading funeral services providers. They are a five-star rated and fully integrated, FCA approved provider of funeral plans and services. The company operates 22 funeral homes across the central belt of Scotland and employs around 80 members of staff. The business has been backed by August Equity Partners (‘August’) since 2017. The business has been bought by Scotmid which is Scotland’s largest independent co-operative employing around 3,600 people across its retail stores and 17 funeral homes. The acquisition strengthens Scotmid’s position in the funeral services market in Scotland. They will now operate from 40 sites and have also geographically extended their branch network into the west of Scotland.
